"Blowup profiles for the critical semilinear equations in two dimensions are shaped like toy pyramids"
Abstract:

We consider solutions rescaled at infinity for semilinear elliptic equations with the Moser-Trudinger nonlinearity, that is a 2D-analog of the Talenti solution. Surprisingly, there are uncountably many distinct solutions of that type. We discuss some general aspects of concentration analysis, such as actions of different groups and the motivation for using in the 2D case a different rescaling group than Euclidean dilations and translations, based on comparative scaling properties of gradient norms, radial estimates, Hardy (resp. Leray) inequality and Lorentz (resp. Lorentz-Zygmund) norms.
